First off, I realize your server and website are in French, but I'm Dutch so I will post in English.

I was just kick-banned from your lovely Urban Terror server. I didn't really get a warning but some friends I was playing with told me the admin (kimented) claimed I was cheating. This is not true. I never cheat and I never will. I admit I had some lucky frags that particular map (algiers), but nothing fishy. I've played action quake 2, an older, similar game to Urt for 9 years before it finally died. I know how to play yet wherever I go I get kicked and called a cheater. It probably doesn't help I'm unclanned and got this odd nick 'n99' .

In any event, I have recorded the entire match (I always do), and would like to send it (with e-mail?) to someone so I can petition against my ban.

You are banned for a week on our servers as we suspect a cheat. If the demos we took (and your demo) confirms cheat, then the ban will be permanent, else you'll be unbanned of course

Ik heb juist naar de eerste demo gekeken en je kijkt nogal veel "door" de muren ... dit laat mij denken dat jij een WH gebruikt

I can assure you I do not use wallhack. If I look at walls it's because I a) heard+ or expect the enemy++ and b) I use laser sight and do not want to point it at the actual opening.

+ I always play with headset, I suggest you do the same when you're viewing my demo.
++ Some players in that particular game, such as 'RexDanorum' always walked the same route and waited at the same spots. After a while you notice this and act accordingly.

I will send you my own demo to the address you provided. It is not the first time I'm accused of cheating, and I'm also not surprised with Valerian's comments. I'm not a cheater however.

EDIT: I've sent the Algiers demo, as well as the 2.5 maps I played before that Casa, Abbey and Prague.

EDIT2: Just looked at the demo again myself. I can see some moments people might think are fishy if they do not pay attention to the context. For instance, a teammate of mine circles the building on the right and I go left. I see him die [emphasis: in text], so I now know where the enemy is.

Regardless, I think the best way to determine if I cheat is not by looking at the times I anticipate or hear things correctly, but when I get caught with my pants down. This happened plenty of times, if I had been using wallhack I wouldn't have been caught by surprise so often. For what it's worth, I caught plenty of cheaters myself as an AQ2 admin. I just think the URT community at large is overzealous and tends to punish without due proof.

As a admin I'm sure you do understand our temporary ban policy when cheat is suspected.
We take great care to take demos before tempbanning and spend time reviewing them.

As I said before, this is only a tempban on one of our servers only. When we have a demo that proves cheat, we share our ban with different admin organisations. This is not the case right now.

Thanks for clearing this up. A bit unfortunate that the temp ban stays, but I guess I'll temporarily seek refuge on other servers.

Yes, I fully understand the policy. I just get frustrated to be accused wherever I go. My playing style is different because I came from another (if similar) game, but it tends to get me in unwanted trouble. Either that or it's because I'm unknown to people. Anyway, cya next week then.
